MRS BARBARA NICE:

Mrs Barbara Nice is the comedy creation of Janice Connolly. Barbara is your average Stockport housewife who has given up the domestic bliss of Tupperware and Poundstretcher shops for the unpredictabilty of the comedy world. No audience is too rowdy for her to handle – she’s already raised five teenagers. With the affectionate attitude of a playgroup leader at a wild Iggy Pop concert, Barbara is guaranteed to warm the heart of any audience.

“As hilarious as it is possible to get.” The Scotsman
“Imagine a hybrid between Mrs. Merton and Victoria Wood” The Times

RYAN GOUGH:

Being 6 foot 5 inches tall and touching on nineteen stone with a shaved head, a lazy eye and his trademark black leather coat, Ryan can look scary, intimidating and agressive. But nothing can be further from the truth, Ryan’s friendly banter with the audience makes him an ideal compere. Whether it is encouraging the audience to singalong with various 1980’s adverts or one-hit-wonders from the 1970’s, Ryan can warm up the dullest of rooms and wake up the most moribund of audiences. His material is autobiographical, regional (he researches for his “away from home gigs”), self-deprecating, sarcastic, laconic with the odd knob-gag squeezed in for good measure.

“A jovial and friendly compere whose ability to build audience rapport is a surefire winner” Gloucester Citizen

DAN SMITH:

His lively mixture of topical material, audience banter and observational quirkiness also lends itself perfectly to compering and in addition to hosting his own comedy nights in the West Midlands and being resident compere at Stourbridge’s Kumanavaloff.

“Totally funny, funny, funny” (Hilarious)
“Walsall’s Frank Skinner” (Walsall Observer)

CHRIS QUAILE:

Chris Quaile is resident compare for the all Leeds University comedy nights, and in 2 years on the comedy circuit, he’s taken an awardwinning sketch show (the Leeds Tealights: For Your Sins, Underbelly Sketch-Off winners, National Student Best Sketch Group 2010) up to Edinburgh. He also won a silver national student radio award with the Tealights as well for best scripted radio show. And he’s a local boy.

& regular MC PAUL KERENSA:

Co-writer of the British Comedy Award winning Miranda, BBC1’s Not Going Out, and now touring his “dazzlingly funny” (The Spectator) solo show, Paul is a Guildford local who’s been running The Stoke’s comedy night for three years, hand-picking his favourite acts for his friends and neighbours to enjoy.
